Construction Management
Our clients entrust Neumann to act as their representative in interactions with private, public, and construction entities. In our role as construction manager we manage all subcontracted work, personnel, and performance to ensure our clients' satisfaction.
Project Management
In addition to a full range of preconstruction services, Neumann provides project management of all aspects of a project during the construction and post-construction phases. General services may include:

Industrial/Manufacturing
Industrial and manufacturing clients often need assistance moving heavy equipment and machinery within their facilities.
Neumann builds, expands, and renovates industrial facilities themselves - and we can help our clients move, rig, set up, or reconfigure their production equipment as needed. We also specialize in millwright work for the dismantling, assembly, and installation of complex machinery.
Self-Performed Work
Neumann Brothers is a true builder. We employ skilled tradesmen to perform important aspects of the job-and we count on them to establish the quality standard for all work on a project.
By performing certain construction tasks ourselves, we can offer additional cost and time savings to our clients. Our self-performed work includes:

Historic Renovation
Historic renovations require unwavering attention to detail and a strict adherence to preservation requirements.
Neumann's finest example of this work is the renovation of Iowa's State Capitol Building in Des Moines. In an extensive project spanning two decades, Neumann restored both the interior and exterior of this magnificent, circa-1886 icon-including re-gilding the towering 24-carat gold leaf dome, replacing all decorative stone work, and restoring both the House and Senate Chambers to their original grandeur.
As with any historically-accurate renovation, craftsmanship was paramount in this project. Whenever necessary, Neumann traveled the country to retain old-world craftsmen and secure specific materials to achieve quality and historic authenticity.
Simultaneous to preserving all historic elements in the building, Neumann was also charged with modernizing its functional operations-such as fire sprinklers, mechanical, electrical, and communication systems.
Sustainability
Our clients are committed to conserving energy, costs, and natural resources in their projects-and so are we. Wherever possible, Neumann identifies and integrates sustainable elements in our construction projects-from new buildings to remodeling jobs to complete renovation work.
Neumann's work with Grinnell College resulted in Iowa's first Gold-rated LEED® -certified building (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), as recognized by the U.S. Green Building Council. Services provided to attain this rating include design development, documentation, implementation, and LEED project administration, and nearly 10% of our office staff is LEED accredited.
Neumann has long employed sustainable practices in our office and on our jobsites, including recycling, electronic processing, and energy conservation.

Pre-engineered buildings offer exceptional value for many clients, particularly if the contractor can customize the structure to achieve the Owner's goals.
As a certified Butler® Builder, Neumann provides professional contracting services for Butler pre-engineered steel buildings which can involve:
